I am originally from Gadsden, AL, graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Industrial
Engineering. Worked for TVA in Chattanooga TN for 28 years as a
Programmer and System Analyst. Moved to the Panama City, Florida area in 1995. I am very
active in Amateur Radio, licensed since 1958 as K4JAF. Top of The DXCC Honor
Roll, hold RTTY and CW DXCC, 5BDXCC with 12, 17, 30, 160 and 6 meter endorsements, DXCC Challenge - confirmed band countries with 2629 worked - 2507 confirmed, and VUCC 50 MHZ with over 600 worked - 500 confirmed
grid squares. Present Amateur equipment consists of the Icom 7600 tranceiver and Acom 2000 amplifier. Antennas are a Cubex 2 element 5 band HF
cubical quad at 40 feet, a Cubex 4 element 6 meter quad at 40 feet, 65 foot
homebrew vertical for 80, and 160 meter DX and the usual dipoles for 80, 30 and 40
meters at about 40 feet.
